Snack vending machines
Snack vending machines provide bigger opportunities than candy & gumball vending machines.
One thing you need to be careful with when placing a snack vending machine is spoiling snacks. If the snack vending machine is too big for the location not everything will be eaten -- and then it has to be thrown out.
If you don't get rid of spoiled food or spoiled candy don't plan on making a lot of money. People quickly figure out that your snack vending machines are selling them garbage -- and they will stop buying.
One technique to save yourself money is to used test machines on a location. Find out how much is getting consumed (but be careful, because sometimes its just a "trend" -- people gobble up everything when a new snack vending machine shows up in the break room.) This way you don't over anticipate your sales and buy a vending machine that is too big for the location.
If your tight on financing and low on locations you need to play it safe to start off with. A bad decision on placing your snack vending machine could cost you a lot of money rather than bringing you a steady stream of cash -- as it should.
